In 2014, the Chapter met it's long-term objective of funding a fourth nationally endowed scholarship. A remarkable achievement considering we raised over $100,000 in just a little over six years. Due to the generosity of our membership and friends of the Chapter, these scholarships are permanently funded. For this effort we were awarded the "Eagle Chapter" designation by MOAA National. We owe a lasting thanks to an anonymous donation honoring killed, wounded & disabled American service members who donated $50,000 and the late Bill Furtado for shepparding this enduring accomplishment.
While these scholarships are awarded by MOAA National, they have agreed to consider highly qualifed applicants from southwest Oklahoma as the priority.
The winners for 2025 are:
-
Laiyanna Jethrow attending Tennesse State University
-
Luis Rosa-Berrios attending Oklahoma State University
-
Chloe Reynolds attending Oklahoma State University
-
Sonrisa Bebo attending Oklahoma State University
