The Military Welcome Center at the Lawton Airport is sponsored by the Southwest Oklahoma Chapter of MOAA and operated by the Chapter’s Auxiliary.

The purpose is to provide military personnel (active, reserve, retired and veterans) and their families with a place to relax while awaiting a flight or other transportation. But our volunteers also enjoy greeting new Army recruits arriving for Basic Training and new Soldiers and Marines arriving for Advanced Individual Training (AIT).

The Chapter’s Auxiliary was the catalyst in the development and opening of the Military Welcome Center in 2010.

Since opening, the Auxiliary has provided a lounge in the airport’s terminal area, its financial support and staffing by volunteers to continue operations. Our lounge has:

• Recliners 
• Computers
• Cell phone charging station
• Large screen TV for television or movies
• Separate area for large baggage
• Sleeping area
• Books for reading or for the taking
• Toys for our younger visitors

Need Volunteers! For over thirteen years the MWC has been staffed and operated by volunteers. These volunteers come from our SWOK Chapter of MOAA, its Auxiliary and from throughout the Lawton/Fort Sill community. But we can always use more volunteers! The Auxiliary recruits, accepts and trains volunteers continuously.
