Chapter President's Update

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I know Zoe and I enjoyed spending time with our son and his family over the Holidays. I also hope that you are surviving the cold temperatures.

We start 2024 on an optimistic note.  The chapter is financially sound. Through your generous donations (tax deductible), the Scholarship Fund is healthy enough to continue to provide five $1000 scholarships to deserving local high school students.

The January General Membership Meeting at the Prairie Room, Comanche County Fairgrounds was a great success. I presented the Chapter Update Briefing which pointed to our chapter’s achievements and outlined our 2024 Goals and Objectives (also posted to our website). We installed two new officers, Gene McAnelly as Treasurer, and Rocky Samek as Director of Public Affairs. The Executive Board looks forward to the two of them assisting in moving this chapter forward. We also said goodbye to Sue Kremmer. Sue has done an outstanding job as Treasurer for the past four years. We also elected new Directors for the Scholarship Fund. Additionally, we recognized 22 Century (+$100) and Platinum (+$500) Club Donors with the presentation of new, spiffy SWOK Chapter Challenge Coins.

If you are able, please assist us in recovering wreaths Saturday 20 January 2024. We will meet at 1100 at the Fort Sill National Cemetery (section 3) in Elgin.

Never Stop Serving!

Don DuRant

Chapter President
