Thought for the Week...

Often the difference between a successful person and a failure is not one has better abilities or ideas, but the courage that one has to bet on one’s ideas, to take a calculated risk and to act.  Andre Malraux

We have always been supporters of the Lawton-Fort Sill Veterans Center and here are some highlights from our most recent effort.  On February 20th we sponsored one of the monthly Bingo sessions.  The Center staff tells us this is one of the favorite activities of the residents.  Some of our Chapter members who helped (shown in the pictures) thought they might have had more fun than the residents.

Our support consisted of helping some of the residents with challenges like visual impairment, providing the funding for the cash prizes, checking cards for Bingo verification and handing out the cash prizes.  It also allowed for interaction with many of the residents who attended.  The Center Activities Director recognized and thanked the Chapter for its support.

Due to what we deem as a very successful venture, we plan to support one or more additional sessions this year.  We hope you will consider joining in on the fun when we make that announcement.
