Fundraiser Letter

Volunteer List

Stir Fry, September 21, 2024

The SWOK Chapter of MOAA will hold a Stir Fry Dinner and 50/50 Raffle Fundraiser on Saturday the 21st of September 2024 at VFW Post #5263 from Noon until 4pm.  The purpose of building our financial resources is to increase the Chapter’s ability to support organizations that provide support to families of active duty service members and retirees.  I hope you have already saved the date and maybe even purchased tickets in advance from one of our Executive Board members.  If you would be willing to sell tickets to your friends and neighbors or to purchase them for yourself, please contact me or Bill Whisenant. You can also sell tickets to be donated to the Lawton Fort Sill Veterans Home.  The residents really enjoyed their trip/meal at our fundraiser last year! The more tickets we sell, the more successful we will be. But it will take more than just selling tickets in advance to have a truly successful fundraiser, so I am asking for your help.

There are a number of ways that you can get involved to help with your Chapter fundraiser.  As you know, it takes volunteers to execute any event. Volunteers will be needed for meal prep and serving, for setting up and running the 50/50 Raffle and for cleaning up after the event.  While the VFW will provide their own members to cook the main meal, the Chapter is responsible for providing desserts for the dinner.  A Volunteer Signup sheet will also be posted on the website with the areas and times that volunteers are needed.  We already have several signed up.  Please let me know ASAP when you wish to volunteer and if you can bring a dessert.  I will add you to the list. My direct email is dennis.clippinger@sbcglobal.net.

We will be setting up for the fundraiser on Friday 20 September between 10am and 2pm at the VFW Post #5263. You can drop by anytime during those hours with your donation of desserts or to drop off your ticket sales. You can also drop off the desserts on Saturday morning at 10am.

Bill Whisenant has pre-sale tickets available if you can help in that way or you can let me know how many you want and I can get them from him and arrange to meet you. All proceeds from pre-sale tickets must be dropped off no later than the day of the fundraiser.

Thanks in advance for your support.  If you have any questions, you can always contact me at 580-585-0251.
